The Doug
Williams Center
The Doug Williams Center for the Study of Race & Politics in Sports is an academic and research initiative based at Grambling State University dedicated to exploring the complex intersections of race, politics, and athletics in both collegiate and professional sports.
Established in 2020 and named for Doug Williams—the first Black quarterback to start and win a Super Bowl—the Center serves as a learning commons and advancement hub where students, scholars, athletes, and industry leaders can engage in critical study, dialogue, and solution-driven research around racial inequities and social justice issues in sports.
I was tasked to develop an identity that was a well-recognized, iconic mark for the center.
